Weekend nights they have DJs spinning while some talented chefs cut, press and roll sushi. Kooma is right across the street from the North Market, so it's already in a hip part of town, but it's also accessible to all of downtown and the Short North. Not only that, but during the days they have some ass-whupin' lunch specials. The Sushi Combo Lunch ($8.99) always features the chef's choice of fresh fish -- usually something white, a pink one, a couple stripedy things, tentacle filets, and the deep blood-red tuna that you should probably save for last. If you'd rather, the tempura is crispy without being greasy and wrapped around big, hearty chunks of fresh veggies and some humungous prawns. They've also got some unique and original dishes, like the 2005: a salmon tempura roll topped with spicy teriyaki sauce, grilled shrimp and tempura flakes.
